| Frequently Asked Questions |
||
| Here are some of the most frequently asked questions I get asked, hopefully this page will answer some of the questions you may have. | ||
| Q. How
many lessons a week should I have ? A. You should have no more than one lesson per week. It's not just what you do in a lesson! practice is the most important thing you can do to make you a better player. |
||
| Q. How
often should I practice ? A. To achieve maximum potential you should try to practice half an hour to an hour per day. |
||
| Q. Is
there anything I can do to stop my fingers from hurting ? A. There are warm up techniques you should do before embarking on a long practice session, however nothing really for your fingertips I'm afraid, the more you play however the harder the skin of your fingertips will become and eventually it will cause you no more problems. |
||
| Q. How
often should I change my strings ? A. I change my strings every 6-8 weeks. The more you play the more often you will need to change your strings. |
||
| Q. Are their any
guitar examinations ? A. Yes. They are awarded by Thames Valley University and London College of Music Examinations and it's the most constructed way of learning guitar I have come across as a tutor and musician. The course consists of 9 grades, preliminary through to grade 8 with a teachers diploma to follow. I strongly recommend this course to all new students especially the younger generation. Please ask for more details. |
